Customer: Katerre and Mundus Travel Project sustainable Hotel in Novo Airão, Amazon, located along the Rio Negro. By its natural wealth, This place is considered one of the wealthiest and most important ecosystems of the Amazon. The project was developed, based on a fully sustainable and provides planning tools, materials and construction technologies and indigenous locations that minimize environmental impact. The Riverside community ha years wooden boats constructs through a technology passed from father to son. To take advantage of the local workforce by encouraging the learning of this technique among the population itself, the Inn was designed as an inverted boat, allowing the technique known to be applied in this work. The Hotel's program includes: housing units, operational areas, service areas, recreation areas, among other uses, designed to interact with the natural landscape, which is recognized as the protagonist of Hotel. The idea is to raise the level of "built" and let nature follow growing without barriers, a wild and natural way without waterproof the soil. Taking advantage of the vernacular architecture, the chalets were raised on pilotis leaving lower ventilation prevail that allows you to reduce the moisture by lowering the inside temperature. The proposal involves typologies with very high stilts and interrelated, by high circulation systems, decks. In this way, the architecture rests on the ground, but clearly has no impact on it. The project seeks to integrate architecture, landscape and society.
